Sliding Scale & Scholarship Self Assessment

We are navigating our current economic climate by employing a sliding scale system and tiered ticketing. Our goal is to make our programs and events available to all folks no matter their socioeconomic status. Choose a ticketing option that fees comfortable for your household and will not hinder your access to basic necessities such as food, housing, or paying your bills. By paying what is possible for you, we are able to continue to provide equitable access and employment to our shared community.

SELF ASSESSMENT

The following are questions to help you decide which payment tier you may fit in. This is not an exhaustive questionnaire and you may feel that your particular situation does not fit here. If so, we trust you will make the right choice for you and your family.

  • Do you own a home or property?

  • Have you or do you expect to inherit money or property?

  • Are your utilities and monthly bills on autopay?

  • Do you have retirement or investment accounts?

  • Do you have a high degree of *earning power* due to your education level or other privileges you have related to race, gender, citizenship, class background, gender identity, physical ability, etc.?

  • Do you have access to family money and resources in a time of need?

  • Do you have uninhibited access to affordable healthcare or health insurance, including through your employer or family members?

  • Does your income only support you and not other loved ones?

  • Do you have little to no debt including higher education loans?

*Even if you are not currently exercising your earning power, we ask you to recognize when this is a choice and consider contributing more.*

WHY SLIDING SCALE

We are a grassroots, QUEER owned and operated business that believes in equitable wages for our all queer staff and guide team. Our business model is mutually beneficial, one that supports our community through both our programs and uplifting queer outdoor leaders.

We believe in a solidarity economy, one that uplifts members of marginalized communities and moves away from the non-profit industrial complex. We are working tirelessly to build a business model that values community over individual profit while ensuring the equitable pay and support of our BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ employees, guides and volunteers.
